“Doing Our Part” RestMart.com Donates to September 11th Funds

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA - Following the attacks of September 11th, several relief funds were established to help the victims and their families. The more prominent funds include those of The American Red Cross, United Way of America, and The New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund. Over the past few weeks, donations have flowed into these relief funds from various sources, among them schoolchildren and, more notably, corporations.

According to published reports, the Red Cross has collected $202 million; the United Way’s September 11 Fund has received $115 million in pledges; the New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund has collected over $4 million; donations from corporations separate from these funds totaled $128 million. Among these corporate donators was Microsoft, with donations of $10 million, and Compaq with $250,000.

While Bryan Sussman’s Boca Raton, Florida based RestMart.com is not among the giant corporations like Microsoft and Compaq, the Sussman’s understands the need to be a contributing citizen to the American community during this time. To date, RestMart.com continues to donate funds to the American Red Cross, the United Way, Howard Stern Relief Fund, and the New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund.

With the entire U.S. economy experiencing turbulence, it has been a tough time for businesses nationwide. For RestMart.com, an Internet classifieds company geared towards posting restaurant for sale classified advertisements, it has been no exception. Bryan Sussman, company president said, “We have had to work harder and smarter to maintain our level of performance and keep traffic high to the website. We believe that right now, we also need to help the victims of the tragedy.” Thus, beyond what they have already donated, RestMart.com will continue their donation program.

Beginning on October 11 and continuing until the end of the year, RestMart.com will donate $1.00 from every ad that is placed on their website, www.restmart.com, to the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund. This fund was established to provide aid to the families of the victims who worked in the foodservice profession within the World Trade Center. Sussman said, “Continuing donations for the next couple of months allows us to honor the victims and to help their families. At RestMart.com, we’re very proud to be Americans and we feel a sense of goodness as a result of our contributions.” RestMart.com is also allowing NY restaurant owners to post there business for sale without charge on the site.
