RestMart.com Raises Money for The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA - With the busy, commercialized holiday season upon us, it is important to remember that it is less about receiving, and more about giving. The holiday season is a time to be thankful for our own good fortunes and to help others. It is for this reason that radio stations and other organizations sponsor food drives and other charity and fundraiser events.

While there are many worthy nonprofit organizations that need assistance, Bryan Sussman, president of RestMart.com, is making a contribution to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDF). “Choosing an organization was not easy, but my family has close ties with JDF. My 30-year old brother has been living with juvenile diabetes since a very young age.” explained Bryan.

Bryan’s Internet company, RestMart.com, is the nations leading on-line classifieds company geared towards buying and selling restaurants. For the month of December, RestMart.com will donate $15.00 of every classified ad that the website sells. Restaurant buyers and sellers will be alerted to the philanthropy through a banner on the homepage of RestMart.com. In addition, a special page has been created at www.restmart.com for anyone in the giving spirit to make a donation.

Another purpose for donating to JDF is to raise diabetes awareness. Although people have heard of diabetes, many do not understand the severity or know much of the disease. Approximately 16 million Americans have diabetes, but about 5.4 million are undiagnosed. In addition, a new case of diabetes is diagnosed every 40 seconds. The number of those afflicted is predicted to increase to 300 million worldwide by 2025 and, unfortunately, there is no cure.

JDF is the world’s leading nonprofit, nongovernmental funder of diabetes research. Donations to JDF will help researchers find a cure. In the fiscal year 2000, JDF awarded $120 million for diabetes research, which is double the amount from the fiscal year 1999.

At the offices of RestMart.com, Bryan and his staff take pride in starting the tradition of giving at RestMart.com. “We are greatfull for the success that RestMart.com has achieved over the past three years and it’s time to start giving it back.” Bryan said.
